Explosive Atmosphere Equipment (ATEX/Ex-Proof)
AES Innovation provides inspection of explosive atmosphere (ATEX/Ex-proof) equipment, regional classification, and legal compliance consultancy under IEC 60079. Services are provided by our qualified engineering team.
Electrical equipment used in environments containing flammable gases or dusts, such as oil and gas plants, chemical factories, paint and solvent storage facilities, and mines, is subject to much stricter safety requirements than standard equipment.
AES Innovation provides expert engineering services for the selection, installation, and periodic inspection of explosive atmosphere (Ex) equipment, in accordance with the IEC 60079 series of standards and the ATEX Directive.

(ATEX / Ex-Proof) Inspection and Consulting
WHY AES INNOVATION?
Why is Ex-Proof Inspection Necessary?
Equipment used in explosive atmospheres is manufactured with different protection methods such as powder filling “q”, enhanced safety “e”, and naturally occurring safety “i”, and it is mandatory that these protective properties are maintained without deterioration over time in the field. In Türkiye, according to the ATEX Directive (2014/34/EU) and the Regulation on Explosive Atmospheres in Workplaces (30.04.2013/ÇSGB), periodic inspection of equipment used in Explosive zones is a legal obligation.
Our Scope of Services
Ex-Proof Equipment Field Inspection
Cable entries, seal integrity, IP protection class, and marking compliance are checked using visual, close-up, and detailed inspection levels according to the IEC 60079-17 standard.
Equipment Selection and Suitability Consulting
Technical support for selecting the correct EPL (Equipment Protection Level), protection type, and temperature class (T1-T6) suitable for the region.
Hazardous Area Classification
Designation of Zone 0/1/2 (gas) or Zone 20/21/22 (dust) areas in your facility according to IEC 60079-10 and preparation of Ex zone plans.
Installation and Commissioning Supervision
Compliance check with IEC 60079-14 requirements for new installations or revisions.
Periodic Maintenance and Testing
Function, insulation, and protection integrity tests are performed at intervals determined according to the equipment type.
