The IEC 60364-7-721 standard regulates AC mains voltage connections not only for buildings with fixed living spaces but also for caravans and travel trailers. In these mobile homes, which are often powered by plugging into the mains at campsites, the highly heated cable sheaths are a major cause of fires.   • Main Distribution and RCD (Residual Current Device) Experience:
    At the caravan power supply inlet, it is possible to simultaneously cut off the phase and neutral at the plug end or inside the device's main box. Delay times of devices with a rated current of <30mA are tested.
  • Insulation for Thin/Coarse Core Flexible Cables:
    Damage tests are performed on the surface of thin-strand/flexible cross-section (H05RN-F or H07RN-F) power cables designed to withstand vibrations from vehicle movement using a megger.
  • Plug/Socket Polarity and CEE IP Class Protection:
    The electrical outlet supplying power to the vehicle is a standard blue (220V) CEE socket with an IP44 durability rating on the cover, and the mechanical integrity of the PE (Earth) terminal is checked.
  • General Equipotential Chassis Bracing:
    If the vehicle's chassis is entirely or partially metal, the electrical zeroing of the PE connection to the kitchen pipes and exterior cladding is proven by measurement.

Typically, the installation takes a standard AC 220V mains supply indoors via a plug-and-socket adapter (CEE standard industrial socket) and is protected. Additionally, if there is a 12V solar battery, an insulated inverter control box is required.

It is an absolute necessity. Since the vehicle's tires will be directly insulated from the ground, any potential leakage from the mains phase will discharge through the vehicle's exterior panels the moment a person steps on the asphalt.
