PREDICTIVE MAINTENANCE
All equipment that uses or transmits power heats up and emits infrared energy (heat). Thermal cameras, which are remote measuring devices, detect this invisible infrared energy (heat) emitted by objects, convert it into an electronic signal, and then display it as a thermal image on the camera screen.
During thermal camera measurements, there is no interference with the systems, and the entire measurement is performed while the system continues to operate normally.
The use of thermal cameras for maintenance purposes in industrial facilities provides highly effective Predictive/Preventive Maintenance, as well as identifying potential hazards in these facilities, reducing fire and other risks, and thus increasing safety.
Thermal camera measurements applied to the electrical and mechanical systems of facilities enable the easy and immediate detection of problematic elements that are not visible to the naked eye, thus preventing unexpected shutdowns. This allows the company to both better plan maintenance and reduce production losses.
Thermal camera inspection also ensures safer acceptance testing of new or revised systems. Just because a system is new doesn't mean it's problem-free. Measurements taken beforehand allow for the identification of weak connections, insulation leaks, worn areas, cracks, lubrication problems, or other areas that may cause problems later on, ensuring the system's successful acceptance.
Thermal camera measurements are used to identify and repair areas of high energy loss in the facility, resulting in energy savings and reduced costs.
The main points where thermal camera measurements are taken in businesses are:;
In electrical panels
In Transformers, Motors and Pumps
At the Switchyard
In switches, contactors, circuit breakers and fuses
In power cables
In Mechanical Systems
In steam lines and valves
In HVAC Systems
In engine bearings
Insulation checks of buildings, roofs and insulated systems.
It is used to detect excessively hot spots on oven surfaces.
