Heating Cable and Surface Heating Systems

IEC 60364-7-753 Underfloor (Ground Heating) Insulation and Shield Tests

The latent heat rising from your floor keeps you comfortable, and the 220 Volts circulating directly under your feet! Will the system's insulation cover (sleeve) maintain its watertightness for years to come?

AES Innovation

The Silent Dangers of Invisible Comfort

In underfloor heating systems, thin, resistance-based heating cables are located beneath the floor circulation, directly beneath the tiles or concrete screed. Any capillary insulation crack or loss of thermal balance can turn the entire floor into an electrical panel.

The AES Innovation electromechanical team subjects the insulation armor of underfloor heating, roof (de-icing) resistance lines, or ramp snow-melting thermal networks to 1000V Meger tests, documenting that there are no leaks.

Covered Resistance (Ground) Impedance Procedure

Inspection Requirements for Electric Heating Systems:

  • Insulation / Dielectric Resistance Test:
Before the system is sealed with wet concrete or after it is completed, a high test voltage is applied between the phase and the outer protective mesh sheath to check for cracks.
  • Equilibrium Equipotential Network:
Ensure that all wire mesh or steel mesh surrounding the underfloor heating cable is directly clamped to a 30mA RCD ground.
  • Local Temperature Limiting Sensors:
Verification of thermal warning sensors to prevent excessive expansion of the concrete and damage to the insulating cable sheath if thermostat limits are exceeded.

Know What Lies Beneath Your Building

Ignoring these checks means stepping into high voltage instead of the cold floor of your bathroom where you take a shower. AES's highly accurate test panel provides peace of mind protection for your hidden lines buried in the floor.

Frequently Asked Questions

FAQs for contractors and interior designers regarding heating systems.

Evet, şartnamelere harfiyen (IPX7 izole koruma kılıfı, 30mA RCD ve üzerine çekilen iletken tel örgü) riayet etmek %100 güvenli kullanılabilir.

In the case of hidden leaks, the RCD's detection of the circuit is delayed; therefore, the mesh laid on the ground must be connected to ground, and the device must immediately close the circuit breaker when the current reaches the ground.
