Generator rooms (Gen-Sets) are enclosed spaces where massive alternators, flammable diesel fuel tanks, extremely hot exhaust pipes, and switchgear panels with thousands of amps coexist. The ISO 8528 standard family (particularly Part 13 – Safety) addresses the risk limits of the entire power configuration, from the manufacturer's chassis to the main distribution board at the facility.

  • Neutral-Ground Connection (Trunk Grounding):
    In the event of a power outage, the safe flow of material from the generator star point (which is an independent source (transformer) to the ground resistance is measured according to the TT/TN/IT system requirements.
  • Static Switch (ATS / Panel) and Motor Thermography:
    Latent relaxations in the alternator rotor housing and thermal switch contacts are thermographically mapped under load using infrared heat.
  • Diesel Tank Insulation and Exhaust Guard:
    Safety analysis (via mechanical inspection) of combustible materials and mechanical insulation barriers around a generator exhaust muffler tunnel reaching temperatures of 1000 degrees.
  • Phase Sequence (Rotation) and Frequency (Hz) Regulation:
    When the device is switched on, the power quality is examined to ensure that the 50Hz ripple doesn't cause sudden, destructive frequency interference to your sensitive devices such as CNC machines and servers.
