Visual and Functional Tests and Periodic Check-ups

Electrical distribution panels are the heart of the electrical infrastructure in industrial facilities and buildings. Malfunctions in these panels can lead to serious consequences such as fire, electric shock, and production shutdowns. Electrical distribution panels The periodic inspections carried out are both a legal requirement and a guarantee of the continuous safety of the facility.

Electrical panel inspection, This is a technical inspection process that systematically evaluates the physical condition, electrical integrity, and functionality of a distribution panel. The inspection consists of documented visual inspection, measurements, and functional tests. The inspection, carried out by an accredited organization, results in an internationally recognized report.

What is Electrical Distribution Panel Inspection?

Legal Requirement: Work Equipment Regulation and TS HD 60364

  • Comprehensive Facility Inspections and Measurements are Performed: Grounding resistance, insulation resistance, RCD (residual current device) tests, phase-to-ground/phase-to-neutral impedance measurements, thermal camera scans, and all visual inspections are performed.
  • All equipment and systems are examined in detail:
Electrical panels, cable connections, distribution systems, compensation panels, motors, elevator installations, and all other electrical infrastructure are technically evaluated.
  • Measurement results and discrepancies are reported:
The results of each test are recorded. Any deficiencies, non-conformities, and risky situations are detailed.
  • If compliance is achieved, an official inspection report is issued.
If all checks are satisfactory, an "Electrical Installation Compliance Report" is prepared. The report includes installation information, engineering certifications, equipment calibrations, and all results.
WHY AES INNOVATION?

Safe Electrical Installations with AES Innovation

Work equipment regulations electrical panel inspection This constitutes the decisive legal framework. The Regulation on Health and Safety Conditions in the Use of Work Equipment (Annex III), dated 25/04/2013 and numbered 28628, mandates the periodic inspection of electrical installations and components by authorized personnel. Employers who fail to fulfill this obligation face administrative fines and work stoppage sanctions during SGK (Social Security Institution) inspections.

Visual Inspection: The First and Critical Step

Electrical distribution panel visual and functional test The process begins with a comprehensive visual inspection. At this stage, our experts evaluate the following elements:
Mechanical integrity of the panel housing and grounding continuity.
Availability of labeling, circuit diagrams, and technical documentation.
Signs of overheating and discoloration at cable entry and exit points.
Physical condition of protective elements such as fuses, switches and contactors
Compliance with IP protection class and cover sealing status.
Hot spot detection with a thermographic camera.
Visual inspection is vital for the early detection of hidden faults. A slight color change or a loose connection could be a sign of a more serious problem later on.

Functional Tests: Electrical Verification
Electrical panel function test Measurement and functional verification are carried out during this phase. AES Innovation experts apply the following tests during this process:
Insulation resistance measurement — According to IEC 60364-6 requirements
Circuit continuity and grounding resistance measurement
Residual current relay (RCD/RCCB) response time test
Short circuit and overload protection verification of employee performance
Phase sequence and voltage imbalance control
Switching and locking mechanisms functional test
All measurement results are obtained with calibrated certified devices and reported under TÜRKAK accreditation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Electrical internal installation inspections are the most effective way to guarantee safety and operational continuity in your workplace. At AES Innovation, we perform electrical inspections to the highest standards in your facilities with our TÜRKAK accredited laboratory and expert engineering team.

Depending on the size of the panel and the complexity of the facility, the inspection process for a standard industrial plant is typically completed in between half a day and a full day.

Under Law No. 6331 on Occupational Health and Safety, all workplaces are subject to this obligation. Regardless of the number of employees, every workplace with an electrical installation is required to have an inspection carried out.

Following the inspection, a detailed inspection report is issued, including measurement results, observations, and any discrepancies, along with a certificate of conformity if the product is satisfactory.

Yes. For legal validity, the inspection must be carried out by an independent and accredited inspection body. Internal audits do not replace formal periodic inspections.

Although thermography is not directly mandated by the standards, it forms a critical part of the visual inspection under TS HD 60364-6 and is included in all AES Innovation inspections.

Nonconformities are categorized according to risk class. Situations posing an immediate danger are reported immediately; for other findings, a corrective action period and follow-up inspection are planned.

TURKAK accreditation guarantees that tests and measurements are performed using reliable and repeatable methods in accordance with international standards. Reports issued by accredited laboratories have legal validity.
