Among the various types of energy, electricity has been the most widely used to date, due to its contributions to human life. However, some problems with this constantly used energy type still seem to remain unresolved. For example, electrical energy cannot be stored economically, and its quality cannot be fully guaranteed during use. The increase in demand for electrical energy today has given rise to the concept of a more reliable and higher-quality energy source. This issue has taken its place in electrical engineering as &quot;Power Quality&quot; or &quot;Electrical Energy Quality,&quot; and its importance has been highlighted through ongoing research. <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.olcum.org\/images\/Adsz1.jpg\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-932\" src=\"https:\/\/www.aesinn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Harmonik-EA-S1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"95\" \/> Figure 1.1. Classical electrical energy production, transmission, distribution, and consumption system. As in all areas, total quality is crucial in electrical energy. Since the approach to energy quality can only be achieved through teamwork between the producer, transmitter, distributor, and consumer companies, each must be aware of and strive to fulfill its responsibilities. Electrical energy should be considered a product and must meet certain quality criteria. To ensure the optimum use of energy and system capacity, energy quality problems must be eliminated, and problems causing poor quality must be solved at their source. Disruptive effects should be recorded at the production, transmission, distribution, and consumer inputs. Data obtained due to poor quality in the system should be analyzed by experts. To provide high-quality electrical energy, several criteria must be considered, including: \u2022 continuity of energy (steady state), \u2022 stability of voltage and frequency, \u2022 power factor close to one, \u2022 balanced phase voltages, \u2022 harmonic amounts in current and voltage remaining within certain values. The economic impact of energy quality cannot be ignored. A study conducted in European Union countries estimates that the damage caused by electrical energy quality problems in industry and commerce amounts to \u20ac10 billion annually. The expenditure on resolving these quality problems is estimated to be around 1 TP3T5 of this figure. In energy quality studies, the existence of certain definitions and standard values is inevitable. Without a limiting standard for energy quality, differences in the accepted definition of quality energy can be observed between electricity producers and consumers. Power quality is a consumer-oriented issue, and the end-user should be the primary perspective. Therefore, the following statement can be used for power quality: A power quality problem arises when voltage, current, or frequency variations lead to malfunction or poor operation of the consumer&#039;s equipment. In other words, a power quality problem can be defined as &quot;variations in voltage, current, and frequency that cause user devices to malfunction or not work at all.&quot;. \u00a0 <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.olcum.org\/images\/Adsz2.jpg\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\" \/> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-933\" src=\"https:\/\/www.aesinn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Harmonik-EA-S2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"403\" \/> Figure 1.2.
