Therefore, it is necessary to verify at regular intervals that the system continues to operate safely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Over time, conveyor belt alignment can deteriorate, guardrails can be removed, emergency stop ropes can loosen, or electrical connections can wear out. Periodic inspections aim to identify such safety deficiencies before an accident occurs. Periodic inspection of lifting and conveying equipment listed in Annex III of the Regulation is mandatory. Although conveyors are not listed as a separate line item in Annex III, they are considered within the general scope of conveying (transporting) equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The regulation was updated with amendment number 33116 dated 23.12.2025. With this amendment, the definition of the party conducting the inspection has been simplified; some expressions in the previous text have been replaced with the concept of &#039;equipment inspection organization&#039;. Furthermore, it is stated that the contract of the party conducting the inspection must be completed via \u0130SG-KAT\u0130P at least one day before the inspection. It is foreseen that organizations accredited by T\u00dcRKAK under TS EN ISO\/IEC 17020 will be accepted during the transition period, and the relevant transition arrangement relates to the date of 1\/1\/2027.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The employer is responsible for ensuring that periodic inspections are carried out at legally compliant intervals and by qualified personnel. However, this is not a fixed period under all circumstances: if a shorter interval is specified in the manufacturer&#039;s user manual, or if the risk assessment for the environment in which the equipment is used requires more frequent inspections, the period is shortened accordingly. Therefore, it is correct to honestly state the period as &#039;once a year; it may vary according to the manufacturer&#039;s instructions and risk assessment&#039;. A single, fixed period should not be claimed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Periodic inspections of the mechanical safety of conveyor systems are carried out by a qualified mechanical engineer.
